In this video, I’ll show you how to turn any PC into a NAS with OpenMediaVault.

OpenMediaVault is a Debian based operating system designed to serve files over a network. It’s super lightweight, easy to setup, and use. All you need is a PC with at least two hard drives. This can be a laptop, desktop, mini PC, or single board PC.

If you don’t have hardware to install on, you can install OpenMediaVault in a virtual machine with VirtualBox as I demonstrate in this video.

OpenMediaVault is perfect if you want to truly control your network storage without relying on commercial NAS systems and software.
